The RX-7V represents the summit of Arai’s knowledge, experience and know-how in helmet technology. With a completely new PB-SNC² outer shell, the revolutionary VAS (“Variable Axis System”) visor system and a significant increased smoother area around the temples, the RX-7V offers the new benchmark in the premium helmet segment. From the also new anti-microbial material liner with an even slimmer frame, to the new ducts, improved diffuser and the integrated Air Channels, every part shows the attention to detail that is so typical for Arai. Arai has continually improved the “glancing off” performance by learning from real scenarios. Thanks to the new stronger and smoother shell and VAS, the RX-7V is closer to the ideal helmet shape than ever. With VAS, the visor mounting position is lowered 24mm in pursuit of the ideal smoother shape that increases the ability of glancing off energy. As a result, this has made it possible for the shell to be completely smooth above the test line of the Snell standard.
The combined systems offer excellent and efficient ventilation. The new top duct provides 11% more airflow, with bigger switches for effortless operating. The Air Channel guides air from the eye port area to the side ducts. The new diffuser is 20 mm longer with improved aerodynamics, and 19% larger intake scoops, both work together with the Air Wing to improve stability. The chin cover blocks air intrusion and draws more air from the mouth area.
Outer Shell Construction PB-SNC2
Peripherally Belted Structural Net Composite Arai´s proprietary (super fiber belt) Peripheral Belt, borrowed from our F-1 technology, maximizes shell strength and flexibility while maintaining low weight. Positioned across the top of the eye port, this band allows the use of a thinner EPS liner which greatly enhances the upward field of view – especially appreciated in a full racing tuck! The Structural Net Composite adds a physical bond to the resin bond of the many layers of fibers and reinforcing materials within the shell.
Variable Axis System (VAS)
With VAS, the visor mounting position is lowered, yielding an average of an additional 24mm across both temple areas, in pursuit of the ideal smoother shape that increases the ability of glancing off energy. As a result, this has made it possible for more of the shell to be smoother along and above the test line of the Snell standard.
Ventilation: Free Flow System (FFS)
Creates airflow under the helmet that reduces wind noise and turbulence while increasing the exhaust of hot air.
Ventilation: Eyeport Airchannel
Enhanced air exhaust from the eye port area, pulled through dedicated air channel to side ducts, improving efficiency and reducing noise.
Front Ventilation: Center top vent - intake
The new Top Vent provides 11% more airflow than the previous Vent. The new bigger switch makes opening and closing easier. The new Top Vent has three positions; closed, half open and fully open to adjust the airflow and prevent water intrusion when fully closed.
Front Ventilation: Diffuser system
The new diffusers are 20mm longer and straightened for improved aerodynamics, working together with the Air Wing to improve stability. Compared to the previous diffusers, the efficiency of the intake scoops of the new diffusers has increased by 19%. The new air intake vents not only have more adjustability with three positions; closed, half open and fully open but also help to improve sealing that decreases wind noise and water intrusion.
Front Ventilation: Brow vents extended to temple area
Fresh air can enter directly to the forehead area without the need for holes in this critical area of the shell and impact absorbing liner. For specific models the ventilation is extended to the temple area.
Front Ventilation: Three position chin vent
Three-position chin vent helps in demisting the visor and offering fresh, cool air to the rider.
Rear Ventilation: Neck exhaust vent
To enhance hot-air extraction from the interior. Increases the ventilation effect at the lower part of the helmet.
Rear Ventilation: Side exhausts
Produce low pressure behind the rear vent for better hot air extraction. Integrated in the shell for better aerodynamics, reduce wind noise and prevent buffeting at speed. Inside, a small foam dam helps to absorb and diminish excessive noise, without reducing ventilation performance.
Aerodynamics: Pull Down Chin Spoiler
Helps minimize wind noise and also aids with the extraction of hot air from the face area. Provides additional deflection of road debris away from neck. Depending on the model the Chin Spoiler is retractable.
Aerodynamics: Patented Air Wing® adjustable
MotoGP tested and designed to greatly reduce drag, turbulence and buffeting resulting in more comfort and additional top-speed. It improves stability of the helmet at high speeds or when braking hard and reduces noise. Depending on the model the Air Wing is adjustable in five different angles of attack positions to suit every riding position.

Interior: Antimicrobial Liner material
Helps maintain neutral acidity levels close to human skin and antibacterial consumption. With the aim of a softer, deeper and even more comfortable fit we developed a softer liner frame material. The liner also has adjustable temple padding that allows for a customized fit.
Interior: Replaceable / Washable Interior & Chinstrap covers
Depending on the model, cheek pads, ear cups or the complete interior may be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with lukewarm water and mild soap. Rinse well after cleaning and never dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. Interior parts in different size thickness are available for a custom fit for every rider.
The premium quality interior of any Arai helmet can be easily cleaned, in place, with mild soap and lukewarm water.
Interior: Speaker pockets
Build in communication systems are popular, but the problem is often that the room for a speaker is limited or just not present, causing unpleasant pressure points. The speaker pockets, offering room for mounting speakers without effecting comfort or fit. (Speaker not included).
Interior: Facial Contour System (FCS)
To offer an even better snug fit and enhancing the comfort to the lower jaw, the Facial Contour System (FCS) works with a foam spring support in the cheek pad that compresses and rebounds, providing the necessary support without excessive pressure.
Interior: 5mm ’’Peel Away’’ Ear cups/Cheek pads
Giving even more ability to craft the perfect fit and comfort, the cheek pads now feature a 5 mm peel away layer for added room if needed.

Comfort: Emergency Release System (ERS)
Allows easier access to an injured rider. By pulling the orange tabs integrated in the pads, the cheek pads slide out. Making helmet removal easier for trained medical personnel and rescuers. Minimizing the risk of additional injury.
Comfort: Breath guard
Works in conjunction with the dual-pivot® chin vent to better direct fresh air to the inside surface of the shield while at the same time directing hot breath down and away from the inside surface of the shield.
Comfort: Chin Curtain
Attached to the bottom of the helmet, the new chin curtain helps to further accentuate the Egg-shape form. The curtain simultaneously blocks air intrusion from turbulent air below and increases negative pressure to enhance the exhaust function of FFS by drawing more air from the mouth area. The improved airflow reduces noise even further.

The American SNELL Memorial Foundation is an independent organisation, SNELL M2010 is their latest new, more shock-absorbent standard. For the M2010 standard a steel ball shaped rather like a tennis ball anvil is used, they also test with flat and “kerb” shaped anvils). The impact test area of SNELL is larger than that of ECE. Multiple impacts and a penetration test on random spots are used.
General: Five times inspected
Each Arai helmet goes through five separate quality-control departments: after the shell is made, after painting and graphic completion, after assembly and two in-process inspections.
It can take up to five years for our experts to earn the right to create an Arai shell. Each shell can take up to 27 steps and to build one Arai helmet will take about 18 man-hours.

All-day comfort with the Arai interior fit and shape together with the finest liner materials and the extensive ventilation system. And thanks to the perfect balance and weight distribution of the helmet, you hardly notice you are wearing an Arai.
General: Penetration tested
All Arai helmets are penetration tested, although not required by European helmet standards. The Arai penetration test is performed with a 3kg test cone that strikes from a height of 3m on the helmet.
